About the Role
A dual-capability engineering role owning both the product drawing function and CNC programming workflow for a leading manufacturer of commercial casegoods and fixtures. Not a drafter or machine operator role—you'll manage the full product drawing database, produce production drawings, develop and optimize CNC programs, and work directly with manufacturing, operations, and sales support as an embedded member of the engineering team.
What You'll Do
Drawing Database Management & Control
• Own the product drawing database as the formal control point for all additions and changes, with an organized file system and monitoring procedures
• Report drawing status to operations; check details (dimensions, angles, allowances, shop notes) for errors and correct as needed
Production Drawing Creation
• Create detailed multi-view detail and assembly drawings in SolidWorks for casegoods and fixtures that manufacturing can build from directly
• Verify fit against component designs; revise for product improvements and new development
• Coordinate with tooling/engineering vendors and manufacturing on new and revised products
CNC Programming & Optimization
• Develop and refine CNC programs to cut cycle times; optimize cutting paths, tool selection, and machining sequences
• Use SolidWorks-based CAM nesting (Router Sim or equivalent) to extract 2D geometry from 3D assemblies
• Catch geometry, tooling, and machining errors before they hit the floor; read and interpret complex drawings/blueprints to verify accuracy
Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Partner with manufacturing, operations, and sales support to turn product requirements into accurate drawings and programs, keeping communication clear on project and drawing status
What We're Looking For
Non-Negotiables
• 5+ years SolidWorks; 3+ years designing millwork, cabinetry, or commercial casegoods/fixtures
• Hands-on CNC programming (18+ months min) and proficiency in Router Sim or equivalent CAM nesting software
• AutoCAD 2D proficiency; strong ability to read complex mechanical drawings and blueprints
• Experience troubleshooting geometry, tooling, and machining issues before production
• Strong organization across multiple concurrent projects; clear communication across engineering, manufacturing, and operations
• Self-starter comfortable in fast-paced, feedback-heavy, remote environments who asks questions early and adapts quickly
Preferred Qualifications
• CSWP certification; parametric and formula-driven modeling
• High-volume production manufacturing background
• Prior remote work with US-based engineering and manufacturing teams
