About the Role We're seeking an analytical, proactive Financial Accountant to join a growing accounting team supporting a multi-property real estate portfolio. You'll prepare accurate monthly financial statements, review journal entries, and ensure the integrity of financial reporting across assigned properties.This role develops toward independent ownership of financials, with structured onboarding, hands-on training, and multi-level review support. It is not a silent task-executor role—we're looking for a team-oriented professional who integrates into the culture, communicates regularly, and takes ownership of their work. What You'll Own • Prepare monthly financial statements for assigned properties • Review general ledger activity and post journal entries (accruals, reclasses, corrections) • Perform account reconciliations and balance sheet tie-outs • Analyze revenue and expense activity and investigate discrepancies • Collaborate with regional managers on preliminary financials • Participate in the multi-level financial review process prior to final approval • Ensure compliance with internal reporting standards and deadlines • Navigate and utilize Yardi (training provided if needed) • Maintain documentation and support audit readiness What We're Looking For Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • 1–3+ years of accounting experience (property accounting preferred) • CPA or CPA-track candidates welcome (not required) • ERP experience required (Yardi preferred, not mandatory) • Strong Excel proficiency • Understanding of GAAP • Open to both experienced plug-and-play accountants and high-potential early-career professionals who are highly trainable and culturally aligned Who Thrives Here • Strong communicator across email, Teams, and video calls • Comfortable asking thoughtful questions • Detail-obsessed, especially with financial data • Analytical and naturally investigative • Team-oriented and relationship-driven • Self-motivated but not silent—proactive with updates • Comfortable in a structured review environment, open to feedback and collaborative review • Output-driven, willing to join regular check-ins, and able to identify errors independently and escalate appropriately
